This website is operated by the Richings Park Bowls Club. We take your privacy seriously. Richings Park Bowls Club (‘we’ or ‘us’) collect, use and are responsible for certain personal information about you. When we do so we are regulated under the General Data Protection Regulations which apply in the United Kingdom and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.
The Data Controller for the purposes of GDPR will be the Club Secretary, David Orr. He will be responsible for the implementation and review of this policy. Given the nature of data held and Club size, the appointment of a Data Protection Officer is not seen as required; any concerns relating to data protection should be addressed to the Club President or the Club Secretary, who will fulfil this role.
The Data Processors will be the Club Secretary and Membership Secretary, who administer the club’s secure membership database. Together they will be responsible for the collection of the data, its security, ensuring that permission for the data to be held, used, and shared as described below is given, and updating of club records including deletion where required.

We collect the following personal information that you provide to us as follows
- Name, email address, phone number (if provided)
Some examples of when we collect this information
- Registering as a member.
- Submission of a contact form.
Personal information you provide about third parties
If you give us information about another person, you confirm that the other person has appointed you to act on their behalf and agreed that you:
- Shall consent on their behalf to the processing of their personal data,
- Shall receive any data protection notices on their behalf.

We collect information about our users for the following purposes.
- To communicate to visitors and members using the contact forms.
Who your information may be shared with
We may share your information with:
- Law enforcement agencies in connection with any investigation to help prevent unlawful activity.
- Club officials in relation to the operation of the club

This is to enable us to do the following:
- To provide membership information and/or communicate with you about fixtures and events.
We will inform you at the point of collecting information from you whether you are required to provide the information to us.
How long your personal information will be kept
We will hold your personal information for the following periods:
- Membership details, held while you are a member of the club.
- Email details for 12 months if submissions are via the contact form.
These periods are no longer than necessary in each case.

We rely on the following as the lawful basis on which we collect and use your personal information:
- Operation of the club website and member facilities
Keeping your information secure
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost or used or accessed in an unauthorised way.
We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine need to know it and those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We will also use technological and organisation measures to keep your information secure. These measures may include the following examples:
- All data supplied is only seen by those officials who need to access it to communicate with you.
- Details are not printed out and emails are kept secured by password in the Richings Park email account.
While we will use all reasonable efforts to secure your personal data, in using the site you acknowledge that the use of the internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal data that is transferred from you or to you via the internet. Transfers of your information out of the EEA
We will not transfer your personal information outside of the EEA at any time.
Children and the validity of consent
Where we obtain consent from any user we will take reasonable steps to ascertain whether the user is over 13 years of age and whether the child is sufficiently informed to give valid consent. If the user is not, parental consent will be required to provide consent for the processing of any personal information.
